Homemade Veggie Pizza

So I used to make homemade pizzas and calazones ALL of the time. I loved making them when we had company because they are not only crowed pleasing but they are also very easy to make! Basically all you so is make your pizza dough, pick your toppings, pile them on, and bake for about 20 minutes! BAM you got yourself an amazing pizza!

Not only do you use whatever you want and as much as you want but it’s also made with your own blood sweat and tears!

Woo Hoo!

No pun intended… I messed my wrist up somehow while smashing garlic and now its all busted and kind of swollen all the while starting to bruise! I have never heard of such a thing before but hey there is a first time for everything right? And it must mean that I am some kind of special huh?

Well I guess you can’t really see, but either way you slice it, its laaaaame…

Well on with the pizza!

Ingredients

2 Head of Broccoli (chopped into bite sized pieces and steamed)

6 Green Onions (sliced thin)

4 Cloves of Garlic (Minced… don’t smash, you all saw my poor once dainty wrist… now its all swollen from being too aggressive with my garlic)

Mozzarella Cheese

Pizza Sauce & Alfredo sauce

1 Pinch of Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Pizza dough (enough for 2 pizzas)

Depending on what kind of dough you chose to use, if its homemade and rolled out, place it on a pizza stone that is dusted with cornmeal.

If you did what I did tonight and bought Betty Crocker pizza crust mix which you just add warm water to, then simply press it into a pan.

I didn’t feel like breaking out the stone and getting too involved so no judging.

Once this is done, brush the edges with olive oil so that they will brown when you bake the pizza.

Now go ahead and spread about 1 cup of your sauces over the pizza dough leaving about 1/2″ of space around the edges.

Mmmmm alfredo sauce for one pizza….

Regular pizza sauce for the other…

After your sauces are spread evenly, scatter about a cup worth of the broccoli on top followed with the garlic, green onions, and mozzerella cheese.

Sprinkle with a pimch of the red pepper flakes.

Bake at 450 for 12-20 minutes or until the edges are golden and the cheese is all melted.

Well now that they are in the oven, drink some wine like me to numb your wounded wrist and bruised pride….

Then try to fill the void with your dapper little mountain lion Saki…

Unless you notice that he has initiated your dog into the laser shooting gang and they plan to over throw the homefront…. then back away slowly…

Just continue about your business and no one will be hurt…

Well the pizza should be done by now! YAY!

Transfer onto a cutting board and slice each pizza into 8 or so pieces and serve!

  2. Aw thank you Amy! Pity party for Sarah! Lol if your free Sunday we can make calzones! All we need is pizza dough, ricotta & mozzarella cheese, and then what ever kind of filling you like! Then of course marinarra sauce for dipping! Ooooo and a bottle of vino. Well I think that covers it! Lol.
