Baked Country Style Ribs With Homemade Barbecue Sauce

DSCF6264

Well don’t those just look magical!

I made these beauties not too long ago and feel the need to share.

What can I say… I am in a rather giving mood tonight 🙂 Lol just kidding!

056

Ingredients

2 Lbs. Boneless Country Style Pork Ribs

1 Onion; chopped

5 Garlic Cloves; minced

1/3 Cup Brown Sugar; packed

3/4 Cup Ketchup

1/4 Cup Balsamic Vinegar

1/4 Cup Worcestershire Sauce

Olive Oil

Juice of one Lemon

1 Tbsp. Stone Ground Mustard

1 Tsp. Grated Horseradish

1/4 Tsp. Black Pepper

058

FYI I used fresh horseradish. If you do the same and have never prepared it before, just follow these simple directions: Remove the outer skin with a potato peeler, cube it, and grate it in a food processor.

Side note: I tried using a cheese grater thinking it would be less of a mess but I found out real fast that horseradish is just too tough of a match for that.

Preheat your oven to 350, arrange ribs in a baking dish, then set aside.

079

Why not drink some wine while you have some down time. Remember you are about to make a homemade barbecue sauce, so sh*t is about to get cray.

Hehe just kidding.

But really…

080

In a large sauté pan, add a about 2 Tbsp. olive oil over medium-high heat.

059

Stir in the onion once the oil is hot and sauté for about 5 minutes or until tender.

060 061

Add your garlic and cook for another minute so that it becomes fragrant.

Stir in the lemon juice…

064

Worcestershire Sauce is next…

065

Followed with the balsamic vinegar…

066

Brown sugar…067

Stir in the horseradish and black pepper…

068

Ketchup…069

Then finally stir in the stone ground mustard.

073

Turn the burner down to medium and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.

Reload your wine glass…

078

And by now it should be ready to work its mojo with your ribs!

Pour the barbecue sauce over the pan of ribs…

082

Make sure that each one is well coated.084

Take a moment to appreciate the barbecue sauce…

Come on, you just made this by scratch and you really deserve it!

085

Okay, that is enough for now… you can continue after dinner is finished…

Bake covered with aluminum foil for an hour, then flip the ribs and baste with the barbecue sauce in the pan. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.
